Vanessa and I went to an area in Novato called Bahia looking for poppies. We didn't find any, but we did find the back way into Rush Creek Open Space Preserve! It's a great winding trail that goes along the wetlands that flow into San Pablo Bay.  After hiking for a while looking for an open spot, we got to a part of the trail that opens up to a good view of Mt. Burdell and other hills. I always really liked this view of a farmhouse on a hill that I've painted in oil a couple of times already, so it was nice to come back with gouache.
